Microchip Expands Multi-Interface Video Support for PolarFire® FPGAs
Microchip is strengthening its PolarFire® FPGA Smart Embedded Vision portfolio with a complete video pipeline spanning video ingest, processing, conversion and display. The solution supports interoperability across SDI, HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces. Fully compliant SDI IP operates from 270 Mbps through 12G, enabling designers to connect legacy video equipment and modern 4K60 systems on a single FPGA platform. Enhanced HDMI and DisplayPort IP adds dynamic format handling, audio support and compatibility across a broad range of video sources and displays.
Designers can implement bidirectional SDI-to-HDMI conversion, scaling and deinterlacing using validated reference designs and application notes. This unified approach reduces the complexity of integrating multiple video standards and processing functions. By combining video processing and multi-standard connectivity in PolarFire FPGAs, Microchip helps reduce component count, power consumption and system footprint. High-performance transceivers support up to 12G video while enabling compact, fan-less and thermally efficient edge systems.

MCP60711/1U/2/4 Series of Precision Operational Amplifiers
The MCP60711/1U/2/4 family of single-, dual- and quad-channel 10 MHz precision operational amplifiers are designed to deliver accurate analog signal conditioning in cost-sensitive applications. These devices combine low input offset voltage (180 µV max), low noise performance (5.4 nV/√Hz at 100 kHz), and low power consumption (720 µA typical) to enable precise measurement of small signals. Operating from a 2.2V to 5.5V supply range, they provide flexibility for a wide variety of low-voltage systems. An integrated on-chip EMI filter enhances immunity to high-frequency electromagnetic interference, making the devices well suited for electrically noisy industrial and automotive environments. The family is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified and supports operation from -40°C to +125°C, enabling reliable performance in demanding applications. Overall, the MCP6071x family offers an attractive combination of precision, noise immunity, power efficiency, and value for modern analog signal-chain designs.

Highly Integrated, FuSa Compliant, Three-phase Gate drivers, MCP8048 and MCP8049
The functional safety compliant MCP8048 and MCP8049 are three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor gate driver system basis chips designed to simplify and enhance automotive motor-control systems. Working with a microcontroller and six external power MOSFETs, they provide independent or complementary control of three half-bridges, supporting up to 100% PWM duty-cycle operation through integrated charge pumps. The MCP8048 adds an integrated LIN transceiver with selectable TXD dominant-timeout behavior, while the MCP8049 is offered without LIN. Both devices support low-power sleep modes with local wake-up and are available in automotive-qualified VQFN packages for applications including pumps, fans, blowers, steering systems, power tools and other BLDC motor controls.
The devices combine motor gate driving with integrated 5V and/or 3.3V regulators, configurable current-sense amplifiers, Back-EMF detection, motor-line diagnostics, SPI control and a safety-focused window watchdog. Comprehensive protection features include gate-voltage undervoltage monitoring, short-circuit and current-limitation detection, cross-conduction protection, adaptive dead time, thermal monitoring and limp-home signaling.

Memory Xplorer Embedded Memory Evaluation Platform
Microchip’s Memory Xplorer Embedded Memory Evaluation Platform is designed to visually evaluate I2C, SPI and single-wire Serial EEPROM devices. The platform combines an easy-to-navigate graphical user interface with USB-based evaluation kits, helping engineers quickly select, configure and evaluate Serial EEPROMs. Users can generate, write, load, read and erase HEX files; test device-specific features such as write protection, serial numbers and MAC addresses; and evaluate variable functionality including voltage range and operating frequencies. A Zero Insertion Force socket allows devices to be swapped quickly, reducing development time and supporting faster prototype evaluation.
