As vehicles become increasingly software-defined, the demand for high-speed connectivity between cameras, sensors, displays and compute platforms continues to grow. To help meet these requirements, we entered a strategic collaboration with Longhorn Automotive (Longhorn) to advance the Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link (ASA-ML) ecosystem.
Longhorn Automotive is a leading supplier of automotive intelligent perception solutions, with a robust portfolio targeting a wide range of applications including exterior perception for ADAS and automated-driving functions, 360-degree surround-view systems, radar systems, domain controllers and in-cabin sensing technologies. By joining the ASA-ML ecosystem, Longhorn will work with Microchip to accelerate the adoption of standardized, high-speed and secure connectivity solutions for next-generation vehicle architectures.
The collaboration brings together our automotive high-speed-connectivity VS700 family of ASA-ML chipsets and Longhorn's expertise in camera development, system integration and automotive production programs. Longhorn has successfully deployed ADAS camera systems using our ASA-ML technology and is expanding its use into in-cabin perception applications.

As an open standard for transporting video, control and sensor data, ASA-ML enables multi-vendor interoperability and helps OEMs reduce reliance on proprietary connectivity ecosystems. Our ASA-ML solutions also support ASAsec link-layer security and precise time synchronization, helping create a strong foundation for multi-camera and multi-sensor systems used in ADAS applications.
