Robust Safety Features for Critical Systems Driven by Motors

The increasing complexity of functions in today’s cars is escalating the importance of functional safety standards. Driver assistance and safety systems in modern cars need robust and dependable electronic components. Safety risks resulting from hardware, random failures or systematic hardware/software errors must be reduced as far as reasonably practicable throughout the product’s foreseeable lifetime.

Guidelines and standards have been developed for the process, the technology and the methods used for implementing functional safety in embedded designs. The aim of the functional safety standards is to prevent unacceptable risks caused by malfunctions in electrical or electronic systems, such as safety-critical systems driven by motors. Implementing robust safety measures in these systems can dramatically reduce the risk of incorrect behavior in motor applications.

Our motor gate drivers listed in the table below offer a variety of safety features to help you design a more robust motor application.
