AN3236 - Sleep/Wake-Up Operation in LAN8770 PHY
The sleep or wake function allows the 100BASE-T1 PHY to be put into a low-power Sleep state and to quickly wake up to normal operation when it is needed again. This enables partial networking, where some nodes of the network may be put into a low-power Sleep state while the rest of the network remains active. This feature is defined in the TC10 document from OPEN Alliance. Key requirements are for very low power in Sleep state, and very fast wake-up of the entire network. These are supported in the LAN8770 100BASE-T1 PHY.
