This seminar describes hardware and software details of Microchip?s 1kVA Offline UPS Reference Design. The seminar starts with a high-level overview of the system and then discusses the hardware design and software structure, and finally describes how the dsPIC DSC simplifies the implementation of complex algorithms without adding to the system cost.

Sagar Khare obtained his Bachelor?s degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Pune (India) in 2002, and his Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York in Stony Brook in 2004. Before joining Microchip, he worked as an Electrical Engineer focused on DSP based embedded systems and power electronics. Sagar has been with Microchip since 2006, working on Reference Designs and supporting the dsPIC SMPS products.
