PIC16F18446 Sensor Board Demonstration

The PIC16F18446 Sensor Board utilizes the MPLAB® Xpress PIC16F18446 evaluation board.  It demonstrates the sensor interfacing capabilities of the PIC16F18446 MCU with high resolution analog and Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs) for sensor end node applications. The 12-bit ADC with Computation (ADC2) computes the filtering and averaging calculations independent of the CPU core for fast response time with minimal power consumption. 

The PIC16F18446 product family is available in a variety of packages including a 14- pin option and is equipped with multiple communication interfaces and low power features necessary for battery-powered applications.

PIC16F18446 Sensor Board

The battery-powered PIC16F18446 Sensor Board displays a visual comparison of signal acquisition, from various analog sensors, using 12-bit resolution with computational functions and 10-bit resolution without. The following analog measurements are performed:

  • Battery level measurement
  • Temperature measurement
  • Pressure measurement
  • Proximity detection and measurement
  • Metal detection
