PIC24 Animation

I am trying to make a kind of animation, but loading Bitmaps one after the other is kind of slow... Is there a way to accelerate the process or another way to go? I know the library supports Gifs  but are they animated gifs of just stills?

If the bitmaps are small enough it's not too bad. Look at your display controller. Some of them have extra memory and the ability to create an overlaid window. You store the bitmaps in the extra memory then move the window from one bitmap to another. I know the S1D13748 can do that and maybe the SSD1906.

I don't know about the animated gifs but it still requires loading each gif frame.

Well, i thought the same thing regarding gif images, but when i look at both sizes it might be an interesting way to go since were talking about 1 * 280kb image vs 11 * 113kb images. So were talking about loading almost 2mb's of bitmaps vs loading one animated gif... if it does work i mean...
The images are 180*220 so they are pretty big, ideally id like a 320*240, but im pretty much delusional at this point. Haha. As for the overlaid windows, how would i be able to do this? I'm using the SSD1926 and regarding documentation i havent been impressed by Solomon systech's contribution...

Those are big images for animation. The SSD1926 doesn't have the extra memory and extra windowing. It does have auto increment. If you use a PIC with DMA you might just transfer the images fast enough.

Quick question, is there anyway to accelerate the SPI flash memory's clock?
