Cannot post to forum

Hi, I am trying to post a problem to the forum but I get this:

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://www.microchip.com/forums/post.aspx?" on this server.
Reference #18.30a3c129.1487188017.53af407

Not exactly helpful at all, since I can clearly post to the forum as I'm asking for help here.  Please assist?

This is sometimes (usually?) due to content.  There are strange rules that I don't understand.  Sometimes it's a word or phrase.  One approach is to post parts and edit the post.  I've had that work.

One way is to ensure the preview view is open. Anything that falls fowl of the MCHP firewall (e.g. mentioning a certain 'fruity' company or their products, including as part of other words) will prevent the preview view from updating. Also don't try to insert images inline with the text. Just attach them to the post (sometimes you have to post without attachments, then immediately edit the post and attach them then)

Hi GlennP, that makes sense, but the problem is the critical parts that I NEED to post is the line of code that causes the problem and the error message.  If they don't allow me to include that it is completely pointless in posting as nobody will be able to assist me.  I even tried cropped screenshots showing the code and inserting them as images.  This is a bit insane.  Any ways around this you know of?

Make sure you post the code between [ code ] [ /code ] tags (without the spaces).

Yeah, tried that, using the code insertion button, doesn't allow it.  I put up the post without code or images, then tried to attach an image and I got the same access denied problem.  How on earth are we supposed to find help on the forum if microchip deliberately cripple things?  Is there anywhere else I can go for help?

most often it is
char  (
(with only one space between word and parentheses)

that cause problems, since it's quite common to have the above in a snipper of code

Don't assume a conspiracy where simple incompetence is more likely. ;)

Smile ok!
Not so bizarre, 'cause that part of statement could be used for SQL injection. Well, like many others, but... !

Enter the forum you want to post in, then you will see a dark grey "Post New Thread" button up on top left of your screen.
