Install device library for MCC?

I downloaded MPLAB Code Configurator v3.16 and installed it into MPLAB X IDE v3.40. Out-of-the-box, it does not support dsPIC33FJ128MC804. So I downloaded PIC24/dsPIC33/PIC32MM Device Library, pic24-dspic33-pic32mm_v1.00.zip, which contains a .jar file.

How do I install this Device Library so that MPLAB Code Configurator will recognize these parts?

did you read the release note if that chip is included in the list of supported devices? not all devices are supported.

That device is not supported yet. Please refer to the list http://www.microchip.com/forums/m943654.aspx?tree=true

That provides the list of libraries currently supported.

This particular device family is planned for middle of 2017.

Ok. But how do I install the device library anyway? I am trying to specify which chip to use in a new design.

In MPLAB X: Tools > Options > Embedded > MPLAB Code Configurator.

Click the button at the bottom of the options panel to either open the folder where the libraries are found and Copy+Paste to this directory manually, or use the "Install" button.

Restart MPLAB X.

I am using PICMZ322048EFH100 PIM in the original Explorer 16 board.
I installed the pic32mx-1.35.jar file using
In MPLAB X: Tools > Options > Plugins > MPLAB Code Configurator tab. and install library.
When I use Open Library Folder, I see the above file.
Closed and re-opened MPLAB XIDE V4.05
XC32 V2.05
Win 10 Pro 64-bit
Using BSP  pic32mz_ef_pim+e16
When MCC is run, I received definition conflict errors that reference both pic32mz_ef_sk and pic32mz_ef_pim+e16
I resolved those errors for PIN_59 and PIN_60
When starting MCC, I receive the following pop-up Warning
"The project's device is not supported by the currently loaded libraries...."

The Project Properties shows the Device: as the desired PIC32MZ2048ECH100

1) What do I need to do to get the MCC to work?
2) I choose the PIC32MZ for the Ethernet support, but do not need it at this time, and am really trying to determine whether to use Harmony or the traditional libraries.
3) Where do I find the peripheral libraries for the PIC32MZ family?  I don't see them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\xc32\v2.05\pic32-libs
4) Is there an eval board that better demonstrates the Harmony and MCC?

Hi jtnum,
Did you follow suggestions in first part of this thread, to read Release notes to see what devices are supported by MCC?

Unfortunately, none of the MZ devices are so far covered by MCC

For PIC32MZ devices, you may use Harmony Configurator: MHC, which is a different beast.

Thanks for the reply.

3) Are there peripheral libraries for the PIC32MZ family?  I don't see them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\xc32\v2.05\pic32-libs

Don't confuse MCC with Plib.

Thanks.  I think I had MCC and MHC confused, also, but am on the right track now.

In MPLAB X: Tools > Options > Embedded > MPLAB Code Configurator.

Click the button at the bottom of the options panel to either open the folder where the libraries are found and Copy+Paste to this directory manually, or use the "Install" button.

Restart MPLAB X.

Can anyone confirm whether this is still accurate?  I do not have any tabs or settings referring to the "MPLAB Code Configurator" anywhere within the Embedded tab.

The installation steps are described in that device library release note. For example to install the USB lite:
1. Download usbFrameworkLite_v1.26.1.jar from microchip website.
2. In the MPLAB® X IDE, select Options from the Tools menu
3. Select MPLAB® Code Configurator v3.x tab from Plugins option
4. Click on Install Library
5. Add usbFrameworkLite_v1.26.1.jar
6. Restart MPLAB® X IDE

Follow the same steps for another library or read the release note.

This is not accurate any more.
It is in Tools/Plugins, there is a button called "Install Library".
