You want the Integrated Programming Environment V1.85. I think it was installed on my system when I installed MPLAB X.

Dug out of Google's cache of the PICkit 3 page:
    PICkit3 Programmer Application and Scripting Tool v3.10      6/12/2013 10:50:41 AM       8555 KB
    http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/PICkit3%20Programmer%20Application%20v3.10.zip

The file is still accessible as of today.

CAUTION: this tool installs PICkit 2 emulation firmware with all that implies i.e limited device support.  Make sure you have  the most recent PICkit 2 device file from the PICkit 2 device list page and unofficial updates from these forums.  You MUST run the menu item in the scripting tool to revert to PICkit 3 firmware to return to using MPLAB 8 or X.   This utility does NOT require MPLAB 8 or X to be installed.

@jej1997: *THANKS* for fixing the link.  I was trying to do so myself, but lost internet connectivity.

Thanks.  I didnt realize it was intergrated. I have some very old programs and want to use the pickit 3 to program a handful of parts without having a PC around.  The last version of MPLAB I used was 7.50.

    Hi

If the idea is to use the PK3 to program PICs without the PC, than the solution is the "programmer-to-go" feature of PK3, not the IPE.
In a nutshell, the programmer-to-go feature programs the target PICs from an image stored in the PK3.
During this operation the PK3 is powered from the target.

    Just my 2 cents....

I have a version of it (which I'm attaching), but I don't remember where I found it.  I can't find it anywhere on microchip's web site.  It seems like they are trying to make it go away, by reclassifying the PICKit3 as "not a production programmer" and forcing people to buy their more expensive programmer.

I'm looking for an updated version, because this one seems to have some bugs.  But if you're not doing anything tricky, it should work well enough for you.
