MCP2200 USB won't work with Win-7-Pro. Refuses to install with INF.

I tried it, does not work. Works with Win-XP.
(This means that I plug the module in and win-7-pro fails, no, actually refuses, to install the driver).

I tried it with FTDI chip, works fine. (TTL-232R-5V).

I have "Read the Manual" and I cannot find out what's with the Microchip INF (in the download)?
I am new to Win-7. I noticed that there are notes about fixing usbser.sys but only for win-xp.

45 reads and no answers. Guess I'll go with FTDI.

This is not the official Microchip support site.  Open a ticket a support.microchip.com.

I installed this "hotfix" from MS.
    http://hotfixv4.microsoft...9701_intl_i386_zip.exe

    It now works fine.

Interesting. The file point to this hotfix. You can see that usbser.sys driver is kind of problematic from time to time. If Microchip is serious to compete with FTDI, Silabs, Prolific, etc, then probably it is better to develop a dedicated driver.
