PICkit 2/3 / ICD2/3 pinout: (Pin1 = arrow mark on PICkit 2/3)

Your dsPIC33f will need 3.3V Vdd on all it's Vdd pins, within max / min parameters. The Avdd is recommended to be connected to Vdd via a 10ohm resistor, and decoupled with a 4.7uF capacitor.
For _MCLR, 100nF one side to ground, other side to MCLR, and 10K resistor, one side to MCLR, other to Vdd.
PGD / PGC should be connected to PGD/C 1 / 2 / 3, dependant on device specs. Obviously use same channel for both PGD and PGC. Specifiy which PGD/PGC pair you're using in the code config bits, or the MPLAB settings.
Edit: VddCORE goes to a 4.7uF - 10uF capacitor, the other side to ground. *DO NOT* connect VddCORE to Vdd, it's an internal 2.5V regulator output, and just needs the 4.7uF - 10uF capacitor to ground.
This should be detailed in the minimum connection pinout, in your device document. Don't load PGD/PGC with too much, and have the PCB traces as short as possible. I've used an LED and resistor tied to those same pins before without problems, your mileage may vary.
