PICkit 2 support Please!

It's unfortunate that support for the PICkit2 was not included. Will it also not be in the final product?

    Seconded.

(I'd go with a PICkit 3 but I use Linux and it doesn't appear to be natively supported)

At the Microchip EDF last week they are saying that they do not see PICKit2 being added at any time for MPLAB'X

    Disappointing.!

    Hi all,
PICKit2 MOST DEFINITELY WILL BE SUPPORTED. It is not available in Beta4 but hopefully should be ready for the full release early next year (it may follow a little bit later). The programmers in development systems are doing a brilliant job with MPLAB X and they just have to prioritize the work.

p.s. the problem with these semiars is that one presenters has to remember an awful lot of information for one day!! Smile and may not get the information over exactly right.

Very disappointing. I used PICs for 8 years and lack of debugging on Linux (my primary OS) and SRAM were reasons to move to Cortex M3 when project was bigger. It seems to me that Cortex M0 will be more suitable for something smaller. People accustomed to good things like debugging very quickly.

As I see, my PicKit2 (used for programming only) stays in my drawer...

Given the popularity of the PICkit 2 (at least from what I see) I would have assumed it would have been given a slightly higher priority even if it is not at the high end of the hardware scale. However I am delighted to learn that it will find its way into MPLAB X.
