I am trying to get my CDC Serial Device software working with a 32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate machine.  When I try to install the "Communications Port" driver I get an Access is denied error message.  I suspect that I need a Windows 7 inf file since the one I am using in in a directory called win2k_winxp. There is also what appears to be a security file in the directory.  Everything works fine on my XP box.  My code is closely based on the Microchip examples.  Has anyone been able to run on W7?

I am running Windows 7 64bit. The examples for Developer Kit PIC18F14K50 had in serial example also an inf-file named ../win2k_winxp/mchpcdc.inf. Inside no Windows 7 Entry is mentioned.
On my system (with administrator) i had no problem installing ist.

I had the same problem, resolved it by booting Win7 (64 bit) into safe mode (F8 during boot), then installing the driver as usual.
