Is buying a valid expresion in this context? sad

Thanks God I always been just hired or simply appointed... but yes, I am not an Engineer. Perhaps somebody may buy one... [:-]  [:-]   [:-]

I was shocked a little like you but I thought that just my English is not that good to understand well :)

But my second thought was: OK if we are buying and selling engineers, then may be we should also have surplus :)

No, but I suspect Mr. Harrison-Croft was being a bit wry so that his post would be strictly on-topic for this sub-forum.

    I think this is he:

    http://www.harrison-croft.com/index.htm

He ddoesn't appear to have any vacancies, according to the web site, though.

I was curious, because I live in E. Sussex.

So slavery is back in style in Britain, or just for techno-geeks that need to be kept in line?  Owning someone might be more economical than merely employing them, but I'd think all the liability issues of today's world would make it too risky.  What if your newly acquire property sprung a neuron and sent death threats to various political figures?  Legally that would probably be the same as if you did it.  Also, are you prepared to brew up the required 3 bowls of gruel per day?  What if he demands more?  Today, little snits like Oliver Twists can probably tie you up in court for years and get the PETA folks on your case.  It's not like the good ol' days when you could just shackle them in the basement.  All in all I think it's a lot less trouble to rent someone than to own them.

O, there are a lot more issues. For an instance I could not find the customs code for this type of goods. Second: does UPS insure such package, and for how much?

I think this is just an ordinary overcorrectness - failed to find an appropriate forum (e.g Job Offers/Seeking a Job) the OP has modified his request to make it fit the nearest existing forum - literally Buy, Sell or Trade. I'm really taking off my head to himgringringrin

    Fortunately I speak tongue-in-cheek.

The shopping list style (1 x ) should have made it obvious even to the witless amongst us. (Which I also speak, by the way).

That's a new low in crass choice of phrase considering current events in UK right now. You might consider the impression being given OP.
