Thanks a lot. But most of the code examples seem to be for the people who are in mid level or advanced level. Please include some very basic code examples with comments so that beginners like me can be benefited.

Anyway thanks again,
faysal

Hallo all together,

i need some more examples for ADC.
i have a "30F2020", they look different than normal "30FXXXX". they have other Registers.
i found only one example for a "30F2020"-ADC. are they some more, and i just don't found them?

it would be very nice if someone can show me a link to more examples for my uC.

thx a lot

ede84,

The dsPIC30F2020 device belongs to the SMPS family and hence is different from the other 30F devices. Check the following link to find more examples on this family.

http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=2621

Also check the following link to access the Family reference manual for the SMPS ADC:

Hi Folks,
I'm looking for either code, or equation, with information on how to adjust constants, in order to implement a simple IIR low pass filter.  I would prefer 2 poles, but can live with 1 if required.  I need to programmatically change the cut-off frequency based on user selection.  I need this to work real time... no filtering of large chunks of pre-recorded data.  I'm sampling at 5K and need to output at 5K, with selectable low pass cutoffs at 1K, 500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10, and 5Hz.  I have tried the ftLite, but so far all I've been able to get from it is code that filters large chunks of data, not in real time.  I've seen lots and lots of web articles with highly complex math descriptions.  I just need an equation, please, if anyone can help.  I'm at the end of this project and this is the only thing left to complete it.  If possible, I prefer the code in C.  At the speed I'm running the processor, I might even consider floating point algorithms.
Thanks.
Rick

I think I found exactly what I'm looking for (from Olin) in this link...
http://www.microchip.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=253839&mpage=1&key=&#254436

I only have one question...  I've read many times that cascading filters is a technique used to create multipole filters.  The problem is, you can't just do that.  Here's what I mean.  If you design a butterworth filter with a cutoff freq of 100Hz, that is, its response is down 3db at 100Hz as it crosses into the stop band, then two of these filters together will produce a signal that is down 6db at 100Hz.  In the analog world, gain is added to the filters to adjust for this... by adding a little overshoot near the cutoff that, when attenuated by the chained filters, makes the response flat.  Olin's filter looks very easy to impliment, but I'm wondering if there is an easy way to tell what constants to use for FFstage1 & FFstage2 such that the filter will produce a true -3db response at 100Hz, or whatever the cutoff is, for a 2 pole filter.
Thanks.

I run simulation the code CE022 - Staggered PWM with Individual Interrupts using SMPS DSC by MPLAB SIM but the result display by Logic Analyzer is not right. It seems to not generate any Trigger to implement interrupt service.

Hello:

Excelent examples!!! But I have a problem with the dsPIC30F1010's oscillator, I can not achive the maximum FRC frequency (433 MHz) and I can not find compatible examples for this chip. Can you help me with this? Thank you.

Problem with the examples posted on the web!

When you open the projects and make them build all, I get the following message.
Debug build of project `C: \ Documents and Settings \ Aliba \ Desktop \ Notes \ pic \ dsPIC \ Motor Microchip \ AN1017_30F2010_V1 \ prueba.mcp 'started.

You should manually add the required source files to your project. See MPLAB Help for how to do it properly.

The sample project files (*.mcp, *mcw) supplied with AN contain the source (and other) files' paths as these paths were at the AN designer's PC. You have put your files to your own path and created the new project "prueba" (C:\Documents and Settings\Aliba\ Desktop\Notes\pic\dsPIC\Motor Microchip\AN1017_30F2010_V1\prueba.mcp), so you need to add the required source files manually to let MPLAB know which files shoud it pass to the toolchain and where these files are located.

I followed your advice and have added the files manually, but still this is the message I get

Doesn't this message explain the issue - "Could not locate build tool. Check tool locations."?

Try everything from scratch:

- Unzip the AN files to some folder.
- Close MPLAB.
- Locate the AN folder, open it and double click the *.mcp file. MPLAB should launch and open the project.
- Check the Project > Select Language Suite and Set Language Tool Locations - these should point to the right tools.
- Hit Ctrl-F10 (Build All) and see the result.
