MHC Does Not Run on Existing Project - Error Validating Project Path

New to Harmony 3.

I created a project with MHC in January, worked fine. A week later I could not re-load MHC to edit the project. No idea what changed.

Launching MHC in this project gives me the following error: "An error has occurred while running the MPLAB Harmony configurator - validating project path"

Yes, the harmony framework is installed in C:\Users\RyzenServer\Harmony3, and there is a subfolder within that called \mhc
  • This is a fresh install of MPLABx 5.45 and Harmony 3.
  • I am able to create a new project using MHC, but I can't edit this existing one.
  • Looks like it wants to open a relative path. But I've told it to open the absolute path C:\Users\RyzenServer\Harmony3
Real newbie error? Please, someone point me in the right direction!

    FIXED IT!

\src folder and <project>.X folder have to be within a 'firmware' folder.

Apparently that’s an unimplemented feature from harmony one that the harmony team for some reason just can’t bring themselves to ditch. Apparently at some time they were going to have different folders in the project for different things. But then never did it. But for some reason MHC enforces it. And for some other reason they can’t produce a proper error message for it either.

And if I might add, as I just found out after countless hours trying to make that damn thing to work, is HAS to be "firmware" with a LOWERCASE "F". Mine was "Firmware" with a capital "F"... Nah... DOES NOT WORK !!!!

Really feels like were are back in the '80s. I don't know what these guys are thinking but that type of constraints should not exist anymore in 2021 modern software development era.
