What are the type of character LCD supported by MCC?

Hello,
I want to configure a 7 segments LCD from within MCC, but I find that the pin names are different from those of usual 7 segments, namely, a, b, c, d, e, f, g, DP.

Now my question is -
What are the type of character LCD supported by MCC (attachment)?

A 7 segment display is NOT a "character LCD".
Normally they don't require any "configuring" as such, but they do require multplexing code to drive the digits in turn.
Do you have a part number for your display?

Hello RIC,
I see.  So they are not the same then.

I will set them up as 7 LEDs then.  Do I need to set up Pull up resistor for each of those LEDs?  Does PIC 8 chip provide pull up resistor by default?

Thanks for your help.

So it's just a single digit?
No part number?
You have not revealed if it is common cathode or common anode.
LED displays don't need "pullup resistors", but they probalby need series resistors.
It would be much easier to advise if you had data for the display.

Hi,
'7 segments LCD'
Are you really sure that is what you have? Where did it come from, what do it look like?
7 segments LCD  may be used in those small infrared thermometers,
digital bathroom or kitchen scales with LCD display,
or Digital Caliper with LCD display  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calipers#Digital_caliper
In these products, the LCD display may be custom made for the end user product.
The LCD display glass have tricky voltage and signal requirements that need a specialized controller,
PIC16F19xx and PIC19xxx family microcontrollers have a specialized peripheral for LCD drive

Character LCD display, as indicated in screenshot from MCC message #1,
see description in Wikipedia   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitachi_HD44780_LCD_controller

OK. Thank you both.

Some years ago, I bought a large bag of parts from China.

This one is named 5611BS-6 which is a 7 segment cube.

I am following a PIC book to try out the codes.

Hi,

There is GNS-5611BS   Red LED single digit display with common anode,
produced by G-NOR Electronics Co. Ltd.
https://www.electronicoscaldas.com/datasheet/GNS-5611-Series_G-NOR.pdf
and similar modules by other producers.
