PIC ROM reflash via Bluetooth

Hi all,

I think I duplicated this, but has anyone had success doing the above?

Probably not available, but I only need a simple to setup Bluetooth module with UART comms, no need for onboard extra I/O, A2D etc.

A 4871 refused to work, so I tried it with a cheap HC-06 module but the link is flaky and keeps dropping out. (Cost vs quality??)  I know the re-flash code is ok because it works fine over a wire link using an FTDI-USB chip doing the same job.

The code sets/clears an EEPROM flag depending on re-flash success so even on failure, the chip will continue to work in limp mode even after a power cycle. However, the continual dropouts are frustrating so maybe it is not the best method, but hard wired updates are problematical.

cheers

For the RN4871 did you connect RTS/CTS?
Exclusive of what the data sheet says it’s required by default.

OK, thanks, I'll also order some new ones with v1.4 firmware in case I had a dud.

    cheers
