Why would you wish that on us?

Usually every 3 months.
Are you looking for something specific?

Usually every 3 months.

Seems like a typical Microchip response rate.

The Simulator in MPLAB X 5.40 does not support EUSART writing to output. They said from Microchip that MPLAB X 5.45 will support this. Nevertheless, I solved the task other way.

The MPLABX simulator fails to support a lot of things in the various simulation models for the function blocks.

I have yet to find any way to use the MPLABX simulator for unit testing of hardware dependent code.

It would have saved us a lot of debug time if we could have automated our regression testing with the simulator.

XC8 2.30 is invoked with wrong parameters on Win10, and I'm unable to build any code.
Tried to open thread on this forum, but i'm still waiting for approval to have it posted.

5.40 => 5.45.

Five steps forward.

But who knows how many steps back?

I have the distinct impression that regression testing for MPLAB X is a bit of an afterthought.

At least the compilers are reasonably robust.

They respond to my forum's suggestions fast.  They read my posts.

For those who try to defame Microchip support, please also try a product made by S...T..., a China-rised French company.  I try one and its out-of-box demo cannot run.  They closed my support ticket.

Somewhere there was a post suggesting the update should be expected mid-August.  A subsequent reply was, "Yea, mid-August 2021" or something along those lines.

XC8 & XC16 have been updated, and XC32 has had 2 updates since the MPLABX v5.40 release in May.

At this point I would prefer a case of COVID.

I just attended my Mother-in-Law's husband's funeral yesterday.  He passed back in May from COVID and was cremated.
