Redefining SPI2 on a PIC32MM0064GPL020

Good Afternoon,

I have never run into this situation before and I am just looking for some clarification. I want to use the SPI2 function in the PIC32MM0064GPL020 and connect it to AD7398 D/A. The AD7398 does not have a SDO pin, so I cannot read anything out. Using MCC of MPLAB X, I want to redefine the SPI2 ports which I have. Do I have to define a SDI pin on the processor to a pin not in use? Will the processor be ok without anything defined as SDI? Thanks for your help.

Thanks in advance
Steve
