Maybe this thread would shed some light on your problem posting https://www.microchip.com/forums/FindPost/777101

my personal troll thinks it is of little help to point the new poster to a thread which answers why his post has not made it.
    ah well such is life.
campus, do have a read of the thread I linked, it specifically answers your question about posting
    do ignore my troll/bully

Thank you Jim for your reply but this is not the first forum I´m active. My post has nothing else then plain text.

I´ve already posted my initial post as a reply to the post above. It shows only that there are 4 replies but I can see only your two posts.

I´m not sure why this forum makes it so hard to get in contact with other users. I´m just looking for a good community to face my problems that are caused because of bugs in the microchip firmware.

I´ve sent you a PM with my post. Maybe there are some things that need to be changed to be ready to be published in the forum. Any help is much appreciated!

the link to a thread I provided the specific answer to your problem posting
you used the word "i P h o n e" ( without the spaces ) as Paul mentions in post  https://www.microchip.com/forums/FindPost/895913 in the thread I linked to

    Thanks for the clarification Jim!

Coming back to the initial question:

    Dear all,

With the B M 64 E V A L - C1 board and B M 83 in embedded mode with our own P C B, there is a strange behavior: I can't adjust the volume of the speaker with my i P h o n e 7 as a streaming source either with the hardware buttons volume+ / volume- or with the volume control in the music app on smartphone. The loudspeaker is connected as described in the B M 64 E V B user manual, section 3.3 (DS50002514B) respectively the B M 83 is operated as an I2S slave with an external D S P in embedded mode. Both devices are in the standard configuration with no user-defined changes. I've tried different setups and found that when using the internal codec (e.g. headphones) everything works as expected, but once the external codec is used over I2S, the sound is always at full level, unless it's muted. I temporarily found a workaround so that the volume control works. A V R C P version 1.3 had to be used instead of 1.6, but I assume that this should not be the standard case, since the i P h o n e supports A V R C P 1.6 ?!

Moreover, I´m getting audio drop outs every 1-2min when I stream music (A V R C P version 1.3 setting) even when both devices are very close to each other (1-2m). Looks like there is a mismacht of the buffer size or internal clocks?

Could someone please confirm my observations or give me a tip to solve this?

In addition, I have the following questions, because I am not clear from the manuals:

    - How can I configure the B M 83's G P I O s in embedded mode? Is this done via M P L A B or is it only limited to configuring the internal button functions such as play / pause, FFW etc. with the Config Tool? I assumed that I could define the G P I Os that go beyond the BT functions etc.

    Thanks in advance!
