C18 48bit addition to form kWh counter. (from page 3)

Hi,

Internet. I can remember the times, you could communicate on the Internet,
ask questions, exchange experiences, review ideas and viewpoints.

Today, forums are controlled by haters with psychological problems.
Face to face they would not say a word and anonymously they are the greatest heroes.

"Andy Pandy Pudding and Pie, kissed the girls and made them cry."
How old or how limited are people who say something like that in a programming forum.

Another strategy: do not answer, ask first, no matter how dull it is.
Lot of questions, more posts. More posts ... no idea. Is there a cup for more posts?

My own forum has been destroyed by such people.

For me there is no forum on the Internet what I can use.
A good idea has become a nonsense, but restricted people have fun.

Sorry, I do not reply to any posts more. Insult enough for this week.
In the first two posts I ask for an answer and not a question. After several insults, I deleted them.

I know it's nonsense to write here. All users who would understand it are no longer there.
I fight with windmills.

Regards Andy (Pandy). Kindergarten!

I assume you've thought about moving to XC8, which has it built in for PIC18F devices.
Am not sure why you mention "no more RAM". If you can't afford any more scratch, does that mean you really want a 40 bit addition?

(32bit is not enough, 64 is too much).

So if you want 40 bit addition, why did you ask for 64?

multibyte addition is such a basic thing to do.
i see you are lazy and you deserve the hate IMHO: litterally the first result in google, if you add "pic18" as a search term.
A single google search and you would have been spared all of this. Take the hint. You don't deserve any more help

for future reference, because the OP is either a troll with lots of spare time or a lazy 13yo with no idea of how the world works or something equivalent.. and has hastily removes all his posts:
-op starts the thread by telling he is feeling lazy today and asking for 64bit addition in C18
-ric answers that XC18 can do that, if the OP is willing to move the project to the new compiler
-op replies that no, C18 is a MUST, the pic is a MUST and that actually needs a 40bit addition because only has 5 bytes available or some crazy optimization requirement and demands an answer
-each following post by the op is a desperate attack / attept to defend his position

sad.

Nobody deserve hate!!!

But going on the defensive immediately when ric asks quite reasonable questions means you are probably going to get it.

(edit) And later deleting your responses to those posts is just rude and cowardly.
(edit again) And deleting the body of your initial post is even more rude and cowardly.

RIC answers any post. Since years.
There is no one answer, only questions.
What kind of help is it?
There is money for it?

This is sick!

And this was a forum for programmer! - intellectual pioneer

What I learn for this discussion:
1. I am a dick.
2. I deserve the hate

I hope somebody erase me from here.

What rubbish.
I have given many thousands of answers to people on this board over the years, as evidenced by over 13,000 positive votes.
Your problem is that you never asked a clear question, and just got narky when I tried to get you to clarify it.

What kind of help is it?

Getting people to think clearly about their problem is often very good help.

There is money for it?

I have never received a cent from Microchip.
You're just making silly assumptions from bad logic.

This is sick!

Your words...
