Moving from Explorer 16 board to Explorer 16/32 board

I'm considering moving to the newer Explorer 16/32 board.  I have an Explorer 16/32 board with a PIC24FJ1024GB610.  When I use MPLAB Code Configurator, the Device Resources list under Resource Management indicates that the Parallel Master Port (PMP) is not available.  Actually, it is listed but when you click on it, it is grayed out with a red circle with line thru it.  The PMP was used on Explorer 16 board as data bus to the LCD.

In looking at the PIC24FJ1024GB610 data sheet, chapter 21 pertains the Enhanced Parallel Master Port (EPMP).  In using MPLAB Code Configurator, MCC, I do not see the EPMP showing up.

For a class I've taught in past, using Explorer 16 board, one of the labs uses the LCD which was connected via the PMP.  I would like to run the same, or similar LCD based lab.

Actually, I would like to use a configuration word (config.h) like I used to do with the Explorer 16 board, but I keep getting directed to use the new MCC.  Clearly if EPMP does not show up in MCC, that is a problem.

As an aside, the schematic for the Explorer 16/32 board does indeed show that the 8 bit data bus going to the LCD is PMD<0:7>

What am I missing here?  Does anyone have a suggestion?

Mike

This has an LCD library using the PMP (among other things) which doesn't rely on MCC.

    jtemples,

Thank you for getting back to me.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears you have sent the "Demo" code for the Explorer 16/32 board where different folders are for different PIM's.  That is, the demo code available from Microchips web site at:
    https://www.microchip.com/DevelopmentTools/ProductDetails/DM240001-2#utm_source=MicroSolutions&utm_medium=Link&utm_term=FY17Q3&utm_content=MCU16&utm_campaign=Article

Please let me know if my thinking here is correct.
    Thanks again,

Yes, that's where it came from.
