Is it safe to connect pin 1 (Vpp) of pickit 3 to 0V

As per title.

Can I connect pit 1 (Vpp) of pickit 3 to 0v - to avoid plugging/unplugging the header?

If you want to drive MCLR low, there's a button in the toolbar of MPLABX to do that, so the PK3 will drive the pin low.
