IOT_WG boards

I have both the PIC-IOT-WG and the AVR-IOT-WG and both of them refer in the tutorials to the AVR-IoT WA Application. This is frustrating because the code is not identical between them and if you follow the tutorial, when you click on clickme.htm, it can't find the board because it is apparently going to Amazon, not Google. Why aren't the tutorials written for the board it comes with? I am new to mplab and rusty wth C, and was counting on the tutorials to give me a leg up. With the two boards, I have about $70 invested with the shipping and tax. I wanted to further my learning in IOT. Looks like I should have gone with the Amazon boards.
Are there tutorials for these boards anywhere else?

Thank you

The WA (Amazon) and WG (Google) boards are essentially the same hardware.  You can switch between these cloud providers using the provisioning tool on microchip.com.

I have PIC IOT WA Board.

You mean to say that. WA Board can be WG Board and can talk Google Cloud instead of aws with provisioning tool or what?

    If yes, How.?

They are the same boards, look at the hardware specs, same Microcontroller and components used.

Click on kit-info link in the Curiosity drive when you plug your kit in, of just go to:
    https://www.microchip.com/DevelopmentTools/ProductDetails/AC164160

Under Documents and Software you will find the IoT Provisioning Tool

Its default action is to switch Google to AWS, but it can also do the reverse.

Hmmm.  This is failing while trying to push new firmware to the nEDBG debugger using its DFU.
Do you have libusb on this machine? (I think the DFU driver needs that library)

Well, actually, I have not encountered this before on Windows, so I am unsure right now.  Some questions instead:
    1) Do you have either Studio or MPLAB installed?
    2) When you run the provisioning tool executable and it fails (DFU error), does it leave the kit with its debugger LED flashing slowly, and is there a DFU entry in the device manager?

    Hi,

    Thanks @judd

I have tried with another Laptop.
Now I got below as per attachment ..

I have installed  MPLAB X and now no DFU error.
But How to change PIC IoT WA to PIC IoT WG  ?

If you run the iotprovision utility with -h switch, you will see the help text:
    -c {google,aws}, --cloud-provider {google,aws}
Cloud provider to provision for (default: aws)
So the default is to provision for AWS, and to revert to Google use:
    iotprovision -c google

    Hi,

But where/how to write these commands?
When clicking on iotprovision-bin.exe , attached script run and then closed automatically.

@Judd, Does this tool work on both the PIC and the AVR versions or is there another tool for the AVR?

Thank you for your answers above.

On Windows you can use command prompt (cmd).  Open a command prompt, navigate to the location you unzipped the file, and execute:
    iotprovision-bin.exe -h

And yes, the same tool works for PIC and AVR variants.
