Microhip forum a place for projects

Hi to everyone!

I am trying to find a place where people can upload their projects and download other projects on the forum. I think this will benefit Microchip a lot and will help with the develoment and advertisement of the Microchip tools. Is there such a place, and if there is not, can you please create one?

I don't see a link to upload. Am I missing something? (not the first time)

In the MPLAB Xpress IDE, create your project or import your existing MPLAB X project. In file menu, select Create/Update an Example.
Fill out the form, like project title, short description, description, etc. To export your current project as a public example.
You must be logged in to do this.

Microchip has tried on occasion to establish a community of developers on their web site. The MPLAB Xpress is just the latest attempt. It has not met with a robust response as can be observed by how often the MPLAB Xpress forum area gets new topics posted. The most recent was posted on March 12, 2020.

The Microchip support of this community seems to focus on a small set of demo board hardware targets.

There is (or was) a method for members to contribute a project for public view but I could not find a clear description of how this can be accomplished.

Perhaps the Original Poster can investigate and follow up on this thread with a report of how it worked out.

I noticed that car forums and other generic electronics forums have sections for projects; even the PBP forums have a space for projects.  I think the reason it doesn't go over well here is that this forum is populated with mostly professionals that have no interest in sharing their work; whereas the PBP forums are populated with mostly hobbyists.

I don't need the world to know my name, but I want to live a life so all my great-grandchildren proudly remember me.

Oh, I've never used the Xpress IDE. When I do things for work, we have a closed, private network. This should be kept in mind when developing tools, IMHO.

No Internet connection. In fact the PC I use for my projects is not connected to a network at all.
MPLAB X is not "official" so I can't load it on the secure or unsecure network computers.

So if you don't have internet connection and you are not even considering your own personal PC to use outside company hours that can have internet, how are you even going to post your projects to the Microchip projects forum if it were to be created?

That would be only personal projects. I've done several, even one for Nuts&Volts. ;)

My main point is that there are, I'm sure, companies that develop products in secure, even classified environments that will not have or want to have internet connections. I just am suggesting that you keep that in mind when developing tools.

    Indeed there are.
Such companies probably have little interest in "a place for projects", the topic of this thread.

Which "you" do you think you're addressing here?

Things that might be shared would be of general interest, approaches, techniques etc.
I have even used this forum to get help for work projects using a simplified, generalized form of my issue.
The "you" would be the people from Microchip that monitor and help people like me here.

I did not mean to start a war. Is there any video for how to add a project to MPLAB Express?

Don't know what the problem with that guy is. I haven't used Express so I don't know if there is.
    Good Luck.
