Harmony 3, USART and File I/O Type Read/Write Data Transfer Model

Hi,

I don't know if this is a bug in Harmony 3. I have been trying to implement a USART on a PIC32MZ2048EFH144. I can get the harmony to create a USART driver for Buffer Queue Transfer Model but not for File I/O Type Read/Write Data Transfer Model.
Is this something that is going to be improved in Harmony 3?

For now I am going to fall back to Harmony 2 which seems to be some what more functional that Harmony 3.

Best regards,
Robert

It is definitely Harmony 2  is more thought out than 3. Harmony 3 is useless because of weakness configuration options and peripheral libraries. It is three step back. I am sorry but it is very unexpected such job.

I also have been recently involved with Harmony 3 USART development.  It took a fair amount of under the hood work for us to get those up to where we wanted to be.  We were using Harmony 3 with Free RTOS, and ended up rewriting a lot of the auto generated USART code to put incoming / outgoing data into FreeRTOS queues.
