ATWINC1500-IC firmware update via built-in UART with specified COM port

We've been using ATWINC1500-IC in our product for about 3 years, with firmware version v19.4.4.
Firmware is programmed in production line in PCBA stage with the "download_all.bat" script.
Recently we tested and wanted to migrate to latest firmware v19.6.1, but there's a problem that we cannot specify COM port with the new "download_all.bat".
If we put "0" in the <Port number> argument, it works fine.
But with specified <Port number>, it can successfully detect port, but always return "Invalid chip id: 0x00000000".
Screen shots of these two conditions are attached.
Using specified COM port in v19.4.4 environment is no problem.

Why we want to use specific COM port number is because we have a customized production tool which opens multiple command-line tool to run "download_all.bat" with predefined COM ports, so we can program 5~10 devices at the same time in production line.
Any suggestion on how to make this <port number> argument work as expected?
Thanks!

Having the same issues while trying to do the same thing. Any clarification would be great.

I'm not sure if this is related, but I have noticed that some bat scripts assumes the port to be written as "COM3" while other just has the digit "3"

I opened a case up with Microchip on this issue and this is what they came back with:
"Direct COM port number does not work and we should give 0 in case of using in-built UART. Direct Port number can be given only when using EDBG UART/Host UART COM port."

I am going to put together some custom boards with the EDBG chip and try to run it that way. Will update with results.
