Microstick II Bug/Glitch?
This may be the wrong place to post this, but there did not seem to be a good place for it, so here goes.
I have the Microstick II board with 32MX250F128B chip installed. I have a really simple - and I mean bare bones simple - program installed that was created using MCC. I have used MCC on MANY chips without any problems so, I don't think my understanding of MCC is a problem.
All my program is supposed to do is flash 3 different leds with different periods using 3 separate timers. Tmr 1 pulses the onboard led (this works fine). Tmr 2 pulses an led externally connected to pin 12 (A4). Tmr 3 is supposed to pulse an externally connected led on pin 14 (B5), but all it does is glow dimly. The period for tmr3 is 250 mS. I checked to see if it was oscillating in some was with an oscilloscope - no oscillations, but the voltage is reading 2.18V (weird).
I decided to switch pins and have tried al available portB pins. Here's the additional weirdness. Port B 5, 7, 8 and 9 ae not working correctly at all. The other PORTB pins (2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15) all work correctly when pulsed by tmr 3.
So here's my question. Is there some kind of weird connection to these pins that's not shown on the schematic for the microstick ii? On an aside, why microchip didn't give a complete schematic for this board is beyond me. the little partial schematic is all but worthless, IMO. back to my question: is there maybe something I need to do differently with MCC to get these pins to behave? I ensure they are outpus, not pull ups, no nothing else, just outputs and they just won't work. Any ideas?
