mouse over values

Hello all,

I'm using MPLAB X IDE v5.25. Is the any option to see the value of a define just putting the mouse over it?

I want to avoid to make right button click, navigatae, go to definition.

Thanks!

Much thanks for your time!

hold CTRL while pointing on the macro. This opens a popup with its definition.

This is no mouse-over, but also quite fast for navigating:
    CTRL + left-click: jump to the definition/declaration
ALT + left-arrow: jump back to where you came from
ALT + F7: Find usages (you need that, if the initialization or value assignment is not together with the definition. For example with struct members.)

PS: Actually I'm not sure, if this really still works in MPLAB X IDE v5.25, but it worked in v3.61.

You can also use ALT-Right Arrow after using ALT-Left Arrow to return back to your original position.

I use this all the time. :)  I would add that ALT-Right arrow works for just about any editor position change (change file, goto declaration, click in navigator window, etc.)  Moreover ALT-Right arrow is a stack, so it works for several move back to previous positions.

Oh, yes, I forgot the ALT + right arrow.

I also use this a lot. Sometimes I just do some funny navigation around to get all the places, where I want to do some code changes, into this navigation stack.

    Hello there,

I update this post with an "hovering" problem.

I have recently updated my MPLAB X from the 3.55 to the 5.30 version.

With the new version in debug mode when I hoover the mousse over some peripherals ( Window >> Target memory view >> Peripherals) like IFS or IEC. The IDE do not show each bit status anymore. It's a bit anoying to loose a handy feature after a software upgrade.

    Screenshot of the 5.30 panel:

    Thanks a lot
