Sure, if the table will run linux, it will be able to run all the linux programs ported to the ARM architecture. I don't see any such releases on the xc and mplabx release pages.

Go look at the web page that describes the product, and make sure you have one of the programmers/debuggers that work with it.

From the mplab xpress website (I can't post links, evidently I'm not worthy), look at the "quick start" document (pdf):

Connect the MPLAB Xpress Evaluation Board to your PC with a Micro-USB cable. The MPLAB Xpress Evaluation Board will appear as a USB mass storage device or FLASH drive. Copy the generated .hex file to the root directory** of the MPLAB Xpress Evaluation Board’s FLASH drive. Note: The MPLAB Xpress Evaluation Board only recognizes files placed in the root directory. Perform a hard reset using the RESET button on the board.

This apparently works with mplab xpress development boards, curiosity development bards, the Explorer 16/32 development board, and the pickit4 programmer/debugger.

This obviously makes debugging in circuit pretty much a trial-and-error thing.

well I got as far as running IDE on my Samsung A90 phone all good but I could not get java on it to connect to my pickit3... so my quest now is what can I connect via usb C to the programmer, I have a usb C to serial lead, it works with thing like barcode readers and the like, serial coms all good. Just need that missing link to a Programmer :)
