Read internal thermal sensor of PIC32MX350

Hi,
I'm working with the PIC32MX350 and want to read the current temperature from the internal sensor. According to the manual it is connected to a separate ADC. But how can I read/access this ADC out of the MCC to get the current temperature?

Thanks!

No,
I am quite sure there isn't a separate ADC.
It is a separate Input to the same ADC as all other AD pin,
and you select the temperature sensor the same way as you select a different ADC input pin,
just that there is no pin, just an internal connection.
Note that the temperature sensor may need to be enabled before it will work,
and may be slow responding, so may need longer sampling time than external ADC inputs.

OK, then independent from what ADC is used for it (in my application no other ADCs are needed): how can I read this internal temerature sensor? Are there any MCC- or other source-examples available?

Thanks :-)

Hi,

In the Product homepage for the device you are using,
https://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/en/PIC32MX350F256H
There are links to various application Notes and other supporting documents,
including Family Reference Manual chapters.
Scroll down until you find the: "Documents" Tab.
Family Reference Manual section 17: 10 bit AD Converter:
http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/61104E.pdf
Have detailed description of all steps needed to set up and use the ADC,
and several snippets of example code.
