ICD3 device incompatibility

I am using a PIC16F1704 and programming using MPLAB IDE v8.92  but when I select the device as 16F1704 it is showing that there is no supported programmers (all buttons are showing red), even my trusty ICD3 is indicated as unsupported.  What can I do??

    You could switch to MPLabX.
But Assume you do not want to.

Oddly, when I connect ICD3 and a target 16F1704 it seems to be able program and debug. So maybe i'm worrying about nothing.grin: grin
