MCP2517FD/MCP2518FD with 1Mbps CAN transceiver on an existing CAN2.0B bus

Hi,

I have an existing CAN bus (CAN2.0B) which doesn't support CAN FD protocol. In my current bus design I am using few MCP2515 CAN controllers (with the micro-controllers without in built CAN) and few other micro-controllers (which have in built CAN controller) and none of them support CAN FD. On this existing CAN bus, I would like to add MCP2517FD/MCP2518FD as it has 32 buffers (as for MCP2515 number of transmit and receive buffers are fixed to 3 and 2 respectively). And I want to use MCP2517FD/MCP2518FD exclusively in CAN2.0B mode and interface it to normal 1Mbps CAN transceiver (for e.g. MCP2551) and add to the existing bus. Would it be feasible? Will there be any conflicts?

Thanks and Regards,
Ankit

But I still would like to know whether I need to change the transceiver from ATA6563 to MCP2551 to connect the MCP2517-FD to an existing CAN 2.0B bus with MCP2515 and MCP2551?

For my current set up, I am testing Komodo CAN Analyser with MCP2517FD click by Mikroe.
Komodo CAN Analyser can act as classic CAN controller as well.
Till now I don't see anything on CAN analyser when I am trying to send anything from MCP2517 to Komodo.
My SPI messages from my MCU (MSP430) seem to be ok.

    Thanks and Regards,

I managed to solve the problem. I was only providing 3.3V. But MCP2517FD requires both 3.3V and 5V. After providing both, it started working.
