Is PIC16 compatible with "Explorer 8 Development Board?

Is PIC16 compatible with "Explorer 8 Development Board?
I bougt the "Explorer 8 Development Board" because I have generated a driver in ANSI C for PIC16.
I have 20 days to return back the "Explorer 8 Development Board" in case this is not compatible with PIC16.
Can you please tell me if the "Explorer 8 Development Board" is compatible or Not with PIC 16??
Here you have some documentatio about the board:

The product description page says it supports all 8-bit PIC microcontrollers from 8 to 80 pins as one of its features. PIC16F series are 8-bit.

...tell me if the "Explorer 8 Development Board" is compatible or Not with PIC 16??

You do know that there are about a gazillion PIC16 processors, right?

    Well, here's the deal:
If you go to the Explorer 8 home page https://www.microchip.com...roductDetails/DM160228 you will find a link to Demo code.  Download and unzip Explorer8_Labs_v2.zip
You will find a bunch of MPLABX projects for PIC16 and PIC18 devices. Other, newer, devices with similar power/ground/ICSP pins may be supported.

Many older PIC16 and PIC18 processors are not and will not be supported, but at least these projects will give you an indication of those that are definitely supported.

I have attached a list of the 69 processors that have demo code projects.  (Extracted from <targetDevice> entries in the nbproject/configurations.xml files)

    Regards,

    Dave

The Explorer 8 Development Board (DM160228) does not support every PIC16 device ever made by Microchip.

If you could identify the PIC16 devices you are using then your question would be easier to answer.

Microchip must update their product page description.

    Many thanks for the clarification!
So I will return this board. My question now is if there are any development board compatible with all PIC16? Can you please suggest to me one?!

What exactly are you looking for? There are many PIC16 devices some are almost obsolete now, some not in production anymore and some still to be released in the future but you want a development board that can support all of them!

    ...all PIC16...

    katela
    ...all of them!

All DIP Packages can be used directly.  Others require breakout boards.

Microchip does not offer a development board that support past and current pin outs of all the PIC16 controllers.

Unless you have an interest in supporting legacy hardware keep the Explorer 8 Development Board (DM160228) and confine your usage to the more current crop of PIC controllers.

For example, the PIC16F877 and PIC16F690 will work in the DM160228, but the PIC16F628A and many other 18-pin parts will not.

It all depends on how important using really old and obsolete Microchip devices are to you.

Keep in mind that the very oldest UV erasable and One-Time-Programmable parts almost never supported In-Circuit-Serial-Programming. These devices required an external device programming tool like a PICstart Plus, PM2, or PM3.

Why the insistence on supporting "every PIC16" device?
That is an unrealistic expectation. You may as well ask if it can make coffee and sharpen knives too.
    What are your REAL requirements?

Many thanks to all and katela!
I decided to keep my development board anyways, I have generated a code with a demo software tool, the information they gave in the generated code said "Valid for PIC16"  so that is why I need this board and PIC.

"Valid for PIC16" is meaningless. No code could run on all possible PIC16 processors.
I suspect this may be a very old tool, created when there were only a few PIC16 parts around. There are hundreds now.
