Removing 'logical' folder (Important Files, Header Files) from a project

Hi, I find the 'logical' folders (for example 'Important Files')in MPLAB X  to be abominations.

How can I get rid of them?

    Abominations! that's a bit extreme.

Delete the important files, it's what they are there for.

Sorry I did not make myself understood.

I want to get rid of the folder, not the files.
    On file system I have:
    projectx/Makefile
on the IDE this is displayed as
    Important Files/Makefile
and I want to get rid of the 'Important Files' and not the Makefile.

For the record, I have no UN-important files in my project as I try to keep everything tidy,
so I think it is an abomination to have folder named like that. The IDE should not dictate
how my project is organised and neither should it try show a false facade of how the
    project is organised.

I sympathise :) I think using logical folders has a lot to do with the way NetBeans works.

I want to see things as they are and be in control.

If you like that, then why you don't edit configurations.xml ?

I would also prefer o/s (shortcuts to folders) so that when you rename/add/move a file or folder, it get's done in the o/s not some front end that is not reliable.

MPLab X on VS should have been there from day one as a plugin.

    It's not very smart either:
The option is there to rename a library, it fails on that (breaks the tree and linkage), the library has to be removed, renamed and then added again.

@rodims, thanks! Good idea. At first it seemed like this would be solution. Then I removed all the folders and the project would not load. Next I tried leaving just one folder and all the folders came back when I opened the project even though they are not in the xml file. Hmm, maybe made a mistake somewhere I will try again.

@crossland, yeah, Netbeans, what a pitty when so many other semiconductor companies have chosen Eclipse Microchip went with Netbeans. Hmm, here is a thought: since basically I don't need or like anything that Netbeans offers I should be able to use Eclipse if I can only use the debug/loader from command line to program my chips.
    This needs investigation. :)
