using "generic" graphics controller

Hello everyone. Hopefully someone has some information to get this working. I created a project with Harmony V2 and made a simple UI with graphics composer. I selected the generic display controller, and implemented functions to work with my driver. I have tested the driver without Harmony and it works perfectly. The problem is with harmony the display will initialize, but no image data will be sent to it.
Basically I need to know if there is a list of requirements to get it working? Such as what functions in the generic controller need to be implemented, and what can just use the default implementations. For now I am not implementing any of the hardware accelerated aspects, I just want to get it displaying.
using PIC32MK1024GPD064, ILI9341 240x320 display. The driver uses PMP.
Any help would be great, thanks!!
