MPLAB X 5.15, 5.20 and 5.25 freezing

The IDE is freezing during the edition of c files.

Two months ago I had version 5.15 installed and it began to freeze/crash during the edition of c files. Then installed version 5.20 and the same happened. Some days ago I installed version 5.25 (the newest) and the problem continues.

When it freezes, there is a constant high consumption of the processor.

I am using a new notebook with Windows 10.
The last time it freezed (today) I have just selected some lines of code with the mouse (picture)
What can this be and how to fix?

I've seen this too and you can't kill it using Windows Task Manager, only reboot.

Have you tried clearing the cache out?  It's usually a good first step for crashing issues like this one.
The MPLAB X Cache directory should be at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\mplab_ide

Are you ending the javaw.exe process?  Ending the mplab process isn't enough, you've got to kill java.

I could not get v5.20 to work, v5.25 works but I have not tried the usual suspects yet.

First bug I did notice was that the color sceme and comment icon (give " #" instead of ';) are still there in asm like they have been for Years
(Reloading the file fixes the color sceme and comment icon bug)

In my case, I am able to close mplab via task manager and re-open it, but it crashes again.
Today there was no freezes, next time this happen again I will try to clean the cache. Thanks for helping.
