Runtime Exception in function DRV_SPI_SYS_QUEUE_Enqueue

I'm writing a TCP Modbus application running on a custom board with PIC32MZ2048EFH100 that uses ENC624J600 for ethernet.
The app seems to work but using a 3rd party tool (ModBus Poll) to do continuous poll for test the SW crashes in minutes (the time needed is random, some times it takes 30-40 minutes) always with the same error:
Runtime Exception @ PC address 0x9d019c70 in function DRV_SPI_SYS_QUEUE_Enqueue at line 381 of drv_spi_statis_sys_queue
The SPI is used only for ENC624J600 and is configured for Interrupt and uses DMA.
I Have no idea on how to solve the problem. Could be a configuration problem?
Please help
PS less often the communication stops without exceptions. The app run but the TCP stack seems not working (also ping stops working). For this problem, happened fitst, I've another thread opened
