How to request PIC added to MCC support?

Hi All,
I'm a new user and am working on a pet project with the PIC 18F8722.
Unfortunately, this is not yet supported in MCC.
Is there a proper channel to request MCC support?
The 18F87K22 version is supported, so maybe not an onerous task for the team to add the 18F8722 ?
Grateful any response.

    Hi,
my best guess: you would be the first one to get support for an older chip on request.
AFAIK, there is no channel (whether proper or not) to request this.

I think the colleagues are busy with implementing the support for new chips, having no capacity to implement MCC for chips that are older than the start of MCC.

Sorry for that. If you can't find a chip that's sufficiently "similar" to your 18F8722, you'd better start with the datasheet. Otherwise, tweaking the files generated from a similar derivative might be faster. Please keep in mind that MCC is intended "for starters" only, so the benefit of using MCC might not be overwhelming. (Searching a bit in these forums, you will find that a lot of people consider MCC a nuissance.)

There is a pinned post in the MCC forum where you can make requests
    https://www.microchip.com/forums/m756691.aspx

The MCC team monitors that list and will consider adding it. It has been done before.

Also take a look at https://www.microforum.cc/ - a great resource for information on PIC and AVR microcontrollers and embedded programming in general. You can also post questions to the experts there.

If you're experimenting, I suggest getting a newer chip instead. There are lots of new PIC18s.

You could use that Suggestion for next realse of MCC as pointed above by cobusve but it's very unlikely they will consider supporting old devices. There are newer and cheaper alternatives that you could consider. Try using MAPS: https://www.microchip.com.aps/Microcontroller.aspx

I'd suggest the only method likely to work is to order a few hundred thousand of the parts, conditional on MCC support.
Any other request to add an ancient part is likely to be laughed at.
