SW100300 - MPLAB X IDE PRO Plugin - Remote USB Debugging problem

Currently attempting to test the SW100300 – MPLAB X IDE PRO plugin – Remote USB debugging to be able to remotely debug firmware for our products.

I have followed the manual remote USB debugging developer manual quite carefully and found myself stuck at the MPLAB remote communications server operation.

When I start the server I have the same messages shown in the manual up until after “server started”. My interface displays that the server is started but I still have the black icon on the bottom right corner of the MPLAB Remote USB Communications Server interface. Why am I not making a connection? I feel I have everything set up according to the manual but the manual is quite vague and not extremely detailed. I have tried setting up the remote system on both a windows PC and a Raspberry pi and had the exact same problem with both. If someone has experience with this plugin and has successfully set up remote USB debugging help would be greatly appreciated, my job depends on it.

    What version on MPLabX?
If you are using the latest you may need to enter a support ticket.

I am using version 5.20. I am not familiar with what a support ticket is, could you elaborate on this?

    Thanks.

It is the official way to ask Microchip for help. This is just a user forum.

    +1 (1)
I have used the remote debugger with mixed success. Having the firewall allow the connection(s) and getting the libraries to match (THIS IS CRITICAL and REALLY HARD TO DO as microchip doesn't supply a _readily_ searchable list of mplabxcomm versions) are the two points I have encountered the most. Random lockups also happen. The latest MPLABX is version 5.40 and uses comm library 3.37.03 yet the trial and purchased version of the plugin insist on using 3.33. These are the issues I've encountered the most.
