Automotive Graphic Instrument Cluster

My son is working on his '85 Dodge Daytona.  The idea of utilizing a modern digital display for the instrument cluster seems like a possibility.  Searching for a display screen to work with has left more confusion & questions than answers.  I fell in love with the cluster on a late model Range Rover.  The opening is 320 mm X 100 mm.  Any places to look, questions to ask, search engine key words?  It would make for an interesting father-son project if I could find the right screen to work with.

I don't need the world to know my name, but I want to live a life so all my great-grandchildren proudly remember me.

I'd suggest starting at DigiKey and Mouser. Also Google "embedded display module". That should occupy next seven or so weekends.
