Identifying Pin-1 on PIC32MX470F512L Controller

There are two holes - how to identify pin-1 on the controller
---> Should we take bigger hole || smaller hole as Reference...
In below image is the Required Controller

    It should be from small hole.

    Also Watch closely , there is small cut at the edge of the chip

    I don't this PIC but it should be same (small hole).

    270719: Confirmed - Smaller Hole is the Reference(Able to Program Device Using PICKit-3) -Thanks for the Answer/Clearing Doubt @ TS9 Smile: Smile
     
    P.S. : RTFM- Shows only single Hole(BUG?)... In Low Resolution-Non-Professional Image - cuts seem to appear on Every Edge -- With (Microchip Logo Orientation && Hole) we can establish Pin-1 at smaller Hole. But Still It will be Confusing/Frustrating...

    I think they are referring to the corners in the drawing in the datasheet.

    1. It cant be inferred from Pg-7     as it shows only 1-hole, cuts appear to be on all sides
    2. It cant be inferred from Pg-337 as it shows only 1-hole, cuts appear to be on all sides
        2.1. NOTE-2: Chamfers at corners are optional, size may vary
     
    P.S. : Is there a Valid Solution to current Question -Considering Datasheet ?
