Programming a PIC24EPXXX with PicKit 2

Hi all, it is possible to program a PIC24EPXXX with the old PicKit 2?

    Technically, yes, the PICkit 2 can program all the flash PICs but to my knowledge, there is no available update that supports this part so the effective answer is NO. Look at getting a more up-to-date programmer unless you too want to rewrite the firmware and app software.

    A lot of work has been done on supporting newer devices with PK2.

    Thank you all for your ansers, I'm asking that because in the PIC24EPXXX datasheet the page 495 says int the paragraph "Development Support" one of the devices listed is the PICkit 2 but it doesn't make a direct reference to program the PIC24EPXXX devices with this programmer.
     
    Right now is difficult to me to have a different programmer/debugger.

    Thanks Ric, I need to learn now how to modify the needed file to make my PIC works with PK2.
