PC IP extraction

Hello!
I am using PIC32 ESK II(with MPLAX X IDE v5.15) and trying to do some learning on networking side. I need to extract PC ip address and MAC address using some APIs(if any). Is there some method to implement it??
Sorry if its a stupid question, but i am a beginner here and any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

This is a PIC forum. I would ask on Stack Overflow.

You can open a server on the PIC32 side and you connect to it from the PC, you can ask for the TCP_SOCKET_INFO. That will give you the remote party IP address.
For the MAC, then make an arp query: either from the command line in he console or through the ARP API in your program.
