PicKit4 Just Died... What can I do to revive it?

Hi:
My PicKit4 purchased on March 5, 2019 just died.  No apparent reason, the indicator LED no longer lights when connected to a USB port.  Can new firmware fix it?  Is it still under warranty?

Thanks,
Tom

Thanks, I filled out the info and submitted my request.  I am curious about the warranty period, does anyone know?  I was unable to find that.

I believe officially it is 12 months, but unofficially they support genuine programmers long after this.

Now that I have had time to rethink my steps leading up to the PicKit4 failure I recall there was a very brief moment when the polarity got reversed going to my prototyping board.  The PicKit4 was connected to the prototype board and the volts do go into the PicKit4 from the header... could this have caused the failure?  Is there no reverse voltage protection at that point?  Bad mistake-sad: sad

    Good news...
I heard back from the folks at CiSAR, they suggested using the Hardware Tool Emergency Boot Firmware Recovery utility from the Debug menu in MPLAB X.  I was unaware of this tool.  I followed the instructions and now my PicKit4 is up & running again.  I`m not exactly sure what caused the problem, but at least now if it happens again I can try this tool first.

    Thanks for all the help!
