PIC IC malfunction

will a PIC ic malfunction if burnt too many times? i.e if I am writing some code then it is not working perfectly as coded this behavior is mainly shown when I am defining variables.
I am using pic16f877a.

Yes, but "too many" is a very large number and you haven't likely reached it.

It's much more likely a simpler problem, like:
you have the Watchdog timer enabled, without code to feed it
or have LVP enabled without a pulldown on RB3/PGM
or, there's a bug in your program.

To get a useful answer, always state which PIC you are using!

That PIC could be programmed probably more than 100 000 times ( the actual number could be in the datasheet ).
In practice it's very unlikely to happen. The problem could be elsewhere as advised above.
If you could describe the exact behavior you are experiencing and post your code, you might get more pointers to the problem.
