Compiling path

Hello everyone.

I have a problem that drives me nuts.
I moved some files and put them inside a folder and now i get the following error:

warning: Configuration "default" refers to file "C:\Users\Alex\MPLABXProjects\myProject\uart.h" which does not exist in the disk. The make process might not build correctly.
I added the folder to include directories but didn't work!
How do i change it's path such that it compiles?

You need to go to Project Properties, select compiler, e.g., xc32-gcc if you use XC32, then on the pull-down menu of Option categories, select Preprocessing and messages, from there you'll add all include search paths to Include directories.

    I believe I'm a moron! :(
Now it fails because it can't see the configuration_bit_settings.h file from header files.
I can't add that folder manually because it does not exist. I'm so frustrated because I'm an idiot.

If it's a header file, you need to use the "preprocessor" path method described above. Simply "including" the file in your project is not enough.

It seems odd that the configuration settings need to be included in more than one file, but that's another issue...
