Curiosity Nano Not Connecting Properly

Greetings All
I purchased the Curiosity Nano 16F18446 evaluation board. At first connection it installed drivers and opened Device Manager as a human interface device similar to a flash drive.

The user guide states:
"Once the Curiosity Nano board is powered the green status LED will be lit and MPLAB X IDE will autodetect
which Curiosity Nano board is connected. MPLAB X IDE will present relevant information like data
sheets and kit documentation."
The green light is on but no relevant information was presented.

I wrote a simple Blink program but am unable to program the device when selecting the Curiosity Hardware tool. A dialog pops up stating last tool used for this project is unavailable.

I'm using WIN 7 32bit

How do I correct this?
Thank you

Always provide the details of the tools you are using, like MPLAB X IDE and compiler versions, if possible the screenshot of the error message
